I think for a unique look, you might want to consider finding more than one premium costume, and then putting the best quality parts from each together. So if one has a better pant and shoes, but the other has a better wig and shirt, just mix and match. Then you’ll have the ultimate look!

Great article about the Gene Simmons costume! Back in the day I used to dress up as KISS and found it easier to dress up as Paul Stanley. The Gene Simmons is a hard one to duplicate. I did it once but I don’t have a long tongue like him and everyone kept asking me to stick it out. Also the makeup is harder than you would think. So try to apply it a couple of times before the big night. After a few applications you will get the hang of it.
Also a great prop is to bring a guitar if you have one. And if you can play bring one of those belt clip amplifiers. It’s a real attention getter!
